Assumptions

Simplified model for a single income source; exceptions and filing may change the result.

Sources

This calculator computes only income tax (22% from 2025-01-01) and basic exemption (up to €700/month from 2026-01-01). The result is not net salary — social tax and unemployment insurance are omitted. Use the salary calculator for a full gross↔net payroll.

Variables (formula under the calculator)

gross income — the amount entered. basic exemption — up to €700/month. taxable = gross − exemption. tax = taxable × 0.22. “Income after tax” is not the same as payroll net.

Scope and exclusions

For a quick income-tax estimate on one stream of income. Does not cover multiple employers, social tax, II/III pillar or replace a tax return.

Examples

  • €2000/month with €700 exemption

    Taxable = €1300, tax = €286. “After tax” = €1714 — not net salary.

  • Annual income €24,000

    Annual exemption €8400 → taxable €15,600 → tax €3432.

  • Without basic exemption

    €2000 × 0.22 = €440 tax.
