Estonia’s child support calculator: prepare for the official estimate

A checklist for Estonia’s official calculator and a clear explanation of its limits. 777.ee does not calculate child support or collect family information.

This is a guide to Estonia’s official child-support calculator, not a calculator or legal advice. 777.ee does not ask for or store income, child details, overnight stays, benefits, case information or free text, and it does not calculate a child-support amount. Enter any required information only on the official Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs page. First identify the situation you need to resolve The official calculator helps parents estimate minimum child support under the Family Law Act formula and work towards an agreement. It does not replace a court’s assessment. A court may award a different amount after considering the child’s actual needs, each parent’s financial position, how costs are divided, other dependants and other statutory circumstances. If an amount is already fixed by a judgment or notarised agreement, do not assume that a new calculator result changes it automatically. Transitional rules are particularly relevant to judgments made before 1 January 2022. Read the ministry’s official minimum-child-support guidance and seek legal help when a decision is disputed or unclear. Prepare before opening the official calculator • The obligated parent’s gross monthly income. The calculator compares it with Estonia’s average gross monthly salary; a court may assess actual income or assets differently when considering financial position. • Every common child under 18 who lives in the claimant parent’s household, even when an estimate is not requested for every child. • Each child’s age, whether any are from a multiple birth, and the age gaps between them. These facts can affect the multiple-child rule. • The average number of days per month the child stays with the obligated parent. Use an annual average that includes school holidays; the statutory reduction is affected by the 7–15-day range. • Which parent receives child allowance and whether the household receives the large-family allowance. When relevant, check the current amount, the total number of children covered and any continuing reduced-payment option with Sotsiaalkindlustusamet. • Any existing judgment or notarised agreement. Do not upload the document or personal information to 777.ee. Check the official result 1. Open the Justiits- ja Digiministeerium calculator below and enter the facts only there. 2. Review the calculation details as well as the final amount. Confirm which income, benefits, number of children and time with the obligated parent were used. 3. Record the date of the check. The base amount and previous-year average-salary component are generally updated on 1 April, while benefit rules can change separately. 4. If a fact is disputed, or actual needs, cost allocation or ability to pay differ from the model assumptions, treat the estimate only as a starting point for an agreement or legal advice. Why 777.ee does not show its own amount The Family Law Act describes the components, but the official calculator does not publish a versioned parameter file, a complete rounding contract or a stable current set of input-output control cases. Without them, 777.ee cannot prove that an independent result matches the official output at every boundary.
